What's it like being human?
Human beings ... what's it like being human? should i feel proud? The destruction that the human mind has wrecked on fellow beings... the human need for power and control which has resulted in untold human miseries.. the animal nature-selfishness,crave for possession, the passions, hatred, envy, jealousy... The insecurities real or percieved which makes them harm fellow beings to protect themselves..
Look at the wars being faught accross the world.. the civil wars to control power, religious wars to establish supremacy of one's religion, military wars, economic wars.. Wars for control of resources.. protect one's own and snatch what the other has, to prolong one's existence, for what? to do what? walk on corpses and live ?
There are countries which are so dispossessed that they live hand to mouth .. and there are countries which have all the money in the world and still want to snatch from others.. don't they feel compassionate.. after they they are hurting people like themselves, people who don't even have basic things: food, education, people with families... these powerful nations/communities/groups bomb the weaker ones; be it the carpet bombing using B-2's, political bombs (by funding regime changes) or economic bombs.. All this can be very well seen at the national/sub-national level..
Human lives being wasted by the thousands everyday.. such a beautiful creature of nature, with infinite capacities and potentialities.. and such terrible waste. i feel sad.
Survival of the fittest principle.. this principle is forwarded by many to justify the acts of base human nature.. but does this principle sanction all these wrongs.. at times i feel,am i unneccessarily arguing against established universal laws, the laws of the animal world? and is the struggle futile? I don't think so.. i think there are innumberable souls amongst us who have been able to rise above the laws.. i think even a lifelong struggle to defeat these laws is worth it.. one can justify one's human birth that way..
I think i have taken too negative a view, need to look at the positive also.. as they say "yin" and "yang".. matter and anti-matter..
